Friends of Shellman Bluff has been awarded the honor of Best Non-Profit of the Year in McIntosh County. Gary R. Smith, FOSB Chairman, accepted the award which was presented by McIntosh Chamber of Commerce at the annual Awards Dinner on June 20th. When presenting the award, Jackie Mull (Chamber Chair) added the following comments about Friends of Shellman Bluff:

“This organization start­ ed small several years ago and has grown to 100- plus members. They are a self sufficient communi­ty-based organization that raises money by hosting the world-renowned event (St. Patrick’s Day Parade at Shellman Bluff)! All funds raised from their events go to help the community in various ways, includ­ing scholarships for qual­ified MCA students. They are dedicated to improv­ ing the quality of life for the residents of Shellman Bluff and the surrounding communities.”
