Twenty-five years ago today, nearly 3,000 people were killed in New York, at the Pentagon, and in a field in remote Pennsylvania. We hold all of them in our thoughts and close to our hearts.
Among them were 343 firefighters who climbed the stairs at the World Trade Center while everyone else was coming down. That instinct didn't begin that morning and it didn't end there — it shows up every time a call comes in here.
Today, we remember and honor the 343. And we're grateful for the brave volunteers who answer the call in McIntosh County.
