Friends of Shellman Bluff

Friends of Shellman Bluff (FOSB) was established in 2001 as a State of Georgia registered, non-profit corporation dedicated to improving the quality of life for the residents of Shellman Bluff and the surrounding communities. All work is volunteer.

They say team work mImage attachmentImage attachment+1Image attachment

They say team work makes the dream work -- and that sentiment could not be more true when it comes to FOSB, our members, and the broader Shellman Bluff community. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’š

With that, we and our Mr. & Miz chairperson Teri Fedor Harris would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to a handful of standout volunteers helping to plan and execute everything surrounding our annual Mr. & Miz Shellman Bluff competition, which is a huge undertaking (and a big fundraiser)!

It takes a village, and we can't say enough about the tireless efforts of Lucy & Bob Korn, Tracy Harris, Johnny Durden, "Grandma" Karen Edenfield, and - last but not least - Mr. & Miz co-chair Kass Sanders. Your patience, can-do attitudes, and expertise is the stuff of legends. And for YOU, we are immensely grateful.

Also, special shout out to Annabeth Korakas of Anna-Beth Photography who is a new volunteer lending her skills behind the camera to keep us looking our best and capture the moments that matter. ๐Ÿ“ธ

So if you're interested in joining the ranks of these superstars by volunteering with FOSB -- especially on Saturday, March 21, for our 25th anniversary St. Patrick's Day Parade -- please send us a message or reach out directly to FOSB's board vice president Laurie Frost at 912-217-1570.

On behalf of the FOSImage attachmentImage attachment+3Image attachment

On behalf of the FOSB board members and our 2026 Mr. & Miz Shellman Bluff contestants, we want to thank everyone in the community who came out to support our fundraising events this past weekend! From the sold-out BBQ fundraiser hosted by Haley & Austin Craven of Dockside Seafood/ Sapelo Blue Crab to the fantastically fun Golf Cart Poker Run & Scavenger Hunt benefiting all of our contestants (over 30 golf carts registered and 150+ hands sold!), all of the ๐Ÿ’ต money ๐Ÿ’ต raised through these efforts directly supports FOSB's volunteer firefighters, scholarship programs, and community improvement initiatives. ๐Ÿš’ ๐Ÿ’ช

With less than two weeks left until the crowning of Mr. & Miz Shellman Bluff on Saturday, March 7, there are just a couple more events for our contestants to shake their money makers.

Next up: A Cornhole Tournament and bake sale hosted by Jason & Sarah Lee this Sunday, March 1, in Friends of Shellman Bluff Park! $50 per team; registration is at 2p, and the tourney starts at 3p.

Y'all are doin' GOOD things on the Bluff. Keep that generosity going!
